What time is the Changing of the Guard tour?
Our guided Changing of the Guard Walking Tour* departs from The Original Tour Visitor Centre in Trafalgar Square at 10.00am, on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

When does the Changing of the Guard take place?
The Changing of the Guard takes place at Buckingham Palace at 11am but the full ceremony happens in three locations. These are St James’s Palace, Buckingham Palace and Wellington Barracks. By joining our tour, we will get you to the right location at the right time.
What will I see on the Changing of the Guard Walking Tour?
Firstly, you will stroll past St James’s Palace, the most senior royal palace in the UK. It was built as an elaborate gesture from King Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn, before he beheaded her of course. This is where the ceremony begins as the New Guard sets off for Buckingham Palace.
March alongside the soldiers to Buckingham Palace where your guide will secure you the best views in the house. Dressed in the iconic red tunics and bearskin hats, the Foot Guards are usually led by the Corps of Drums. On the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, the New Guard swaps places with the Old Guard in a ceremony that is renowned across the world.
The Original Tour London bus and walking tour tickets are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Please note these tickets are not valid on Christmas Day 25th December 2020.
Validate your ticket when you are ready to begin your tour. You can use your ticket for 24, 48 or 72 hours after you have validated it, depending on which ticket you have purchased.
