What Are the Best Harry Potter Locations in London?
From the moment Harry boards the Hogwarts Express to the dramatic destruction of Millennium Bridge, London appears throughout the Harry Potter films. These are the real-life locations every witch, wizard and Muggle should explore.
1. Platform 9¾ — King's Cross Station
Start your Harry Potter adventure where Harry boarded the Hogwarts Express.
Inside King's Cross Station you'll find the famous Platform 9¾ photo opportunity, complete with a luggage trolley disappearing through the wall and the official Harry Potter Shop. Although the platform scenes were actually filmed elsewhere within the station, this has become London's most iconic Harry Potter location.

2. St Pancras International — The Flying Ford Anglia
Although many visitors mistake it for King's Cross, it's actually the magnificent Gothic façade of St Pancras International that appears in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
This is where Harry and Ron fly the enchanted Ford Anglia over London after missing the Hogwarts Express.
Today it's one of London's most beautiful railway stations and sits directly beside King's Cross, making it an easy addition to your visit.

3. Leadenhall Market — Diagon Alley
Before entering the wizarding world, Harry visits Diagon Alley and much of that magical street was filmed inside Leadenhall Market.
Bull's Head Passage became the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, while the ornate Victorian architecture perfectly captured the feel of the magical shopping district.
Dating back to the 14th century, Leadenhall Market is one of London's oldest markets and one of its most beautiful filming locations.

Closest landmark: Monument
4. Millennium Bridge — Death Eater Attack
The opening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince features one of the films' most dramatic London scenes.
Death Eaters tear through the sky before destroying the Millennium Bridge, sending it twisting into the River Thames. Thankfully, the real bridge remains firmly in place and offers one of London's best walks between St Paul's Cathedral and Tate Modern.

5. Claremont Square — 12 Grimmauld Place
Hidden in Islington, Claremont Square doubled as Number 12 Grimmauld Place, the ancestral home of Sirius Black and headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix.
Although the magical house itself was added using visual effects, the elegant Georgian square remains instantly recognisable to Harry Potter fans.

7. Borough Market — The Leaky Cauldron
Just outside Borough Market, Stoney Street appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban as another entrance to the Leaky Cauldron.
