What’s on in London – January 2017

If one of your resolutions for 2017 is to come to London or discover the city you live in, then remember that one of the best ways to do so is on board one of The Original Tour buses!

With over 8,000 performers, The New Year’s Day Parade is a fantastic way to celebrate 2017! Watching the parade if free, but if you would rather have a seat, you can also purchase Grandstand tickets.

  1.        London Boat Show – 6th to 15th January

London’s annual boat show is coming back to ExCel this January. Whether you are a sailing enthusiast, want to try out kayaking and zorbing or simply want to have a look at the latest luxury yachts, this is the place for you!

  1.        London Art Fair – 18th to 22nd January 

If you like art, do not miss this fair! Taking place at the Business Design Centre, the exhibition includes artwork from the early 20th century to the present day and is seen as the event that launches the art world year.

  1.        The Magical Lantern Festival – 19th January to 26th February

Coming back to London for a second year, the Magical Lantern Festival will be taking inspiration from the Chinese New Year as this year’s festival theme is ‘Explore The Silk Road’.

  1.        Burns Night – 25th January

Celebrate poet Robert Burns’ birthday and Scottish culture with Haggis, Scottish Whisky and poetry readings taking place in many restaurants and bars across the city.

  1.        Chinese New Year – 29th January

This year’s Chinese New Year falls on 28th January, however, London’s festivities will be taking place the day after, on the 29th. With firework displays, street performances and a parade, it is the perfect way to celebrate the Year of the Rooster.
