Things to do on Bonfire Night in London 2018

This weekend London’s skyline is set to be more breathtaking than ever! With a multitude of firework displays taking place across the city, the sky will be alive with colour as we mark the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 that must never be forgotten.

1. Alexandra Palace Bonfire Night

Date: Friday 2nd November & Saturday 3rd November

With fabulous views of London, the Firework Festival hosted at Alexandra Palace is set to be a lively affair. The firework display will start at 9 pm on Friday 2nd and 8 pm on Saturday 3rd. The audience is in for a real treat. First, they will witness an epic laser show before the main display even begins. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a German Bier Festival, a fairground, performers breathing fire and an ice skating rink. 2. Richmond Family Fireworks

Date: Sunday 4th November

The Richmond Family Fireworks Display is a hugely popular event that takes place every year at the Athletic Ground on Twickenham Road. Gates will open from 4.30pm and families can enjoy live entertainment, funfair rides, candyfloss and popcorn stalls. There’s also hot food and mulled wine for the adults to enjoy too! 3. Kingston Fireworks

Date: Friday 2nd November

Colour, noise and top-notch entertainment are promised by the organisers of the Kingston Firework Display. The firework show takes place at Kingsmeadow Athletics Stadium and gates open at 6.30pm. 4. Guy Fawkes Night in Newham

Date: Saturday 3rd November

Wrap up warm for bonfire night 2018 and head to Guy Fawkes Night in London, Newham! Held at Silvertown Quays, this event will be a treat to your ears as well as your eyes because Jean Michel Jarre and Primal Scream are providing this year’s soundtrack. There will also be a variety of tasty treats on offer along with stalls selling beer and mulled wine. 5. Wimbledon Park Fireworks

Date: Monday 5th November

Wimbledon Park will be hosting two firework displays this year - both on the same evening! The first display begins at 6.30pm and will be a musical themed extravaganza. Take your children to enjoy a colourful show full of majestic fireworks explosions. The second show kicks off at 8.30pm and also has a musical theme. 6. Lambeth Fireworks

Date: Saturday 3rd November

Lambeth Fireworks is set to be a memorable occasion! This year, Lambeth's firework display will be at Brockwell Park and gates open at 5 pm. Get there early and enjoy a spin on the waltzers along with some delicious food and drink. If you’re torn between staying in and watching a film or braving the cold to watch a firework display then this event is pretty much the perfect compromise. The 6.45 pm display has a family movies theme with songs from The Greatest Showman, Moana and more, whilst the 8 pm display has a ‘Time Tunnel’ theme to bring you some classic hits. 7. Harrow Fireworks

Date: Saturday 3rd November

Your favourite hits are coming to Harrow- but it’ll be over in a flash! As you make your way to Harrow Firework Display, you can enjoy an epic firework display accompanied by your favourite chart music. Hosted at Byron Park, this is a glittering event, full of fire spinners, Bollywood dancing and bright lights. Starting at 7.30pm, the firework display will wow you with its grandeur and pop soundtrack. 8. Blackheath Fireworks

Date: Saturday 3rd November

Blackheath Firework Display is one of the few remaining free events in London this bonfire night. The event takes place on the heath, located on Shooters Hill Road, where a funfair will be open from 12 noon. Food stalls and bars open from 5 pm, with the firework display starting at 8 pm. Blackheath itself is a quaint residential area, and its bustling pubs and independent retailers making it a lovely place to explore.

9. Victoria Park Bonfire Night

Date: Sunday 4th November

Set in the award-winning Victoria Park, this year’s display promises to be nothing less than spectacular. The Guy Fawkes fireworks in London will have a Monsters theme and a mixture of everyone’s favourite tunes. Refreshments will be available before the firework display takes centre stage at 7 pm so you will want to get there early to grab a mulled wine.
