What is a London night bus tour?

A London night bus tour is an evening tour of England’s capital city. Our Night Bus Tour of London is an open top tour which allows you to experience the beauty of London at night. The tour runs along our Yellow Route every day from 4.30pm until end of service, with the last full tour from 6pm you can use any bus along this route with a valid hop-on hop-off ticket. See most of London’s famous landmarks on our London by night open top bus tour such as The Shard, Tower Bridge, The London Eye and much more.

To complete a full loop of this tour and see the London skyline by night, the last full tours of the evening leave at the following times:

Stop 1, Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria: 5.15pm daily

London Night Bus Tour route

The Original Tour of London by night follows the Yellow Route from 4.30pm until 7.45pm, which also operates during the day. This route takes you past most of London’s famous landmarks and crosses the river Thames twice for spectacular views of the city when night falls, making this one of the best London night tours.

On the Yellow Route, you will pass Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower of London, along with many other hot spots in central London.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities from either the top of the bus or when you choose to get off for some London night sightseeing. You will be able to experience the twinkling lights of the city as the sun sets over London.

Tour Times & Landmarks

Our London evening tours run daily from 4.30pm-7.45pm until the 24th May 2019.  This tour will not run on the following dates:

Christmas Eve: Tuesday 24th December 2019

Christmas Day: Wednesday 25th December 2019

Boxing Day: Thursday 26th December 2019

New Year's Eve: Tuesday 31st December 2019

For those wishing to complete a full loop of this tour, the last full tours of the day depart from:

Stop 1, Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria: 5.15pm

Stop 17, Coventry St, Leicester Square: 5pm Monday-Thursday and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday

Some points of interest where you may want to leave the bus to explore include Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. You will have the opportunity to get on and off the bus at your leisure, or you can stay on the double-decker for the full duration of the London night bus tour, which lasts around 2 hours and 20 minutes.

  • Ticket Information

    To book your ticket for the London night tour bus, simply select the number of tickets you would like then click ‘Book now’ to enter your payment details.

    Your ticket will be sent to you via email along with your booking confirmation and all you have to do is print off your ticket or show the email from your phone on the day of your tour.

    The London by night open top bus tour is an exclusive evening tour running from 4.30pm-7.45pm, so your tickets cannot be used during the day. It is valid for any of our buses along the Yellow Route and passes most of London’s famous landmarks. However, if you'd prefer to explore London by day, check out our 24-hour or 48-hour bus tickets.

    The London Night Bus tour departs from The Original Tour stop 1 at Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria, and The Original Tour stop 17 at Coventry Street, Leicester Square. For those wishing to complete a full loop of this tour, the last full tours of the day depart from:

    There are 25 stops along the Yellow Route where you can hop on and off to see London’s most popular parks and landmarks. As you pass over the Thames, enjoy beautiful views of London’s popular attractions reflected into the river including the Shard, Tower Bridge and the London Eye.

    As well as seeing London light up, if it is a clear night you will also experience the sunset over the capital city from our nightly open top bus tour.  For details of sunset times in London during the spring/summer, please see below:

    1st - 8th:  between 7.33pm and 7.44pm
    9th - 16th:  between 7.46pm and 7.58pm
    17th - 25th:  between 8pm and 8.13pm
    26th - 30th:  between 8.14pm and 8.21pm

    1. The complimentary hop-on hop-off river cruise and three walking tours are only available to customers with valid 24 hours or 48 hours tickets. These are not included in the Night Tour ticket.

    3. Night Tour tickets can only be redeemed at or after 4.30pm. Tickets are then valid on that day only until the end of service.
