The iconic Windsor Castle sits high on the banks of the river Thames and the site for the castle was chosen by William the Conqueror almost 1000 years ago. Along with Buckingham Palace, it is one of the official residences to the Queen of England and was an important royal residency of King Henry VIII and Queen Victoria.

This includes 19 British Prime Ministers, members of the Royal Family, (including Prince William and Prince Harry), as well as famous actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston.

Whilst you’re in Windsor you can also enjoy the Changing of the Guard* ceremony where the bustling Windsor High Street transforms into a parade ground, as well as paying a visit to the Windsor Farm Shop to buy products produced on the Royal Farms.
